Meshki Details – Grad Ball Glam

I finally have a degree wooo!! To celebrate, we had an amazing Graduation Ball in the Crowne Plaza hotel. Because grad ball has been hyped up for my entire four years of uni, I was extremely anxious to find the perfect outfit. Typically when I have a big event,  I usually go for block colours that are neutral. However, because I knew I would only be having one grad ball I wanted to take a step in the glittery direction so I started looking for an embellished dress everywhere you can imagine online. Because of my figure – flat chest and long legs – I like to wear deep V/ plunge dresses that preferably have a split as I  this style best suits my body.

I seen so many beautiful gowns and maxi dresses from UK clothing shops and boutiques but a lot of them were out of my budget so I started looking at Australian websites. For my cousins wedding last September, I had ordered a beautiful maxi dress from the Australian website from Hello Molly that fit me perfectly, so I wasn’t really worried about   returning it or the sizing.

Having remembered seeing a few beautiful Meshki dresses on Sarah Ashcroft’s Instagram (you have to follow her- she’s the queen of nice clothes), I decided to chance my luck on their website. And OMG was I happy I did so. They have the most stunning clothes, formal wear and swimwear ever!! After about a month of deliberating what dress I wanted – I was torn between about 5 different ones haha – I ordered the Ella Jewelled Maxi Dress. This was £142 but because Meshki are on Unidays and do student discount I got it for £127.80 with free express shipping because it cost over a certain amount. It literally arrived at my house 3 days later! I got the size M (10) and it fit me really well everywhere except the chest so I had to get that taken in a good bit.

It was packaged beautifully in a lovely white box and the dress was even prettier in person than on the website. When I shined my iPhone torch on it, the sequences shimmered and dazzled and made it look a lot dearer than it actually was.

I accessorised with a couple of H&M rings and my bracelet is a stunning silver Tiffany one that my best friend got me for my 21st birthday! My bag is a double-sided sequence one from Accessorize, and I wore nude scrappy heels to keep with the neutral silver tone. I was going to wear a necklace but could’t find the perfect dainty one that I was looking for so just decided to just not wear one. I’m so glad I didn’t wear one though as there was already a lot happening with the sequences.

My arm is in front of my stomach in all of the pics because being the cluts that I am, I spilled body shimmer on myself when I was getting ready and it left a big orange stain – typical me!! I hope you enjoyed reading this, and don’t forget to look on Meshki is you have any future events, even if you’re not Australian. It honestly has the most beautiful dresses and clothing items and I got complimented all night on my dress!
